Subject: New pages and photos on the Antarctica wikisite
Hi all
We are stuck in New Harbour for three more days because of a blizzard
that came in and stopped the helicopters from flying!  The winds were
about 50 to 60 knot winds (=100km per hour!!) and visibility was down
to 100metres.  But we got lots of snow here at New Harbour which is
very unusual.  Today the weather cleared up for us on this side of the
Ross Sea at least so we had beautiful sunshine and white soft powdery
snow!  It's got to be the softest , driest and whitest snow I have
ever seen.

Well, it also means I have had time to put up some more photos and
pages on the wikisite.  So there are the experiments with the salt on
the sea ice and snow ( that Waihola school children asked me to do),
also the hot and cold water freezing outside (that a few schools asked
about). And I have finished the scientists experiment pages showing
what they have been doing here with scallops, brittlestars, seafloor
sediment and fish here at New Harbour.  Then there is my favourite
page with all the interesting finds I have discovered while I have
been here at New Harbour.  I think you will also enjoy them!

Have a lovely day.
Warm greetings from the chilly south
Trisha
