Friends of Whatipu is a group of about 75 people who have knowledge of and links with the Whatipu area and have resolved to act as guardians of the area, helping to preserve its special character, and where possible assisting the Auckland Regional Council in its management of the area.

Beach Clean-up low turn-out

Hi All,
After a record turn-out for the tree planting, numbers dropped off
dramatically for the annual beach clean-up. There was 12 in total,
with 4 of these being children.
It was a beautiful warm day on the beach.
Myself, I would take the beach clean-up over tree planting any day!
